Using Data Mining to
Predict Injuries: A new model for injury prediction and prevention
Presentation Topic
Imagine it’s 2054 and as a safety professional you have the tools available to
identify employees who are about to have injuries up to 36 hours in advance. In
addition to individuals identified, you receive information of the exact time,
date, and location.
Aside from the “free will” versus “determinism" argument and whether the future
is set or whether free will can alter the future (which won’t be part of the
discussion), Steve’s presentation will focus on:
Past and current studies using
predictive analytics
What tools and leading indicators
are available today to predict injuries
Barriers that exist in using this
“technology”
